As the title suggests this post is about one building that has made quite an impact on me. I have been influenced by others and will post my notes about them as this blog evolves.
I visited the Getty back in 2003, following the advice of the hotel recepcionist where I was staying.
I think buildings are able to talk, and depending on the interest of the audience, sometimes we get the message, sometimes not. At the time of my visit I was an architect junkie. Architecture was my biggest passion and not surprisingly when I came across the scale and quality of the Getty, hats off… I felt I had seen the zenith of what architecture can do as if the building had spoken to me.
We are not talking about one simple building, but rather a serious of various buildings well designed and linked, erected on breathtaking location. This happened eight years ago but I still remember having a coffee at one of the bars enjoying the amazing urban mass of LA unfolding in front of me.
